The gift arrives. The waiting is over.
The function of the Muse--bringer of the New. The New is not determined by conditions immediately preceding its arrival but is somehow possible given those conditions. As Gaston Bachelard writes...the poetic moment is a knot between successive moments but exists outside the idea of the one moment causing the next moment. The New arrives freely during the state of waiting. It is given. The New is a Gift. The Gift comes wrapped with a series of complex knots forming a bow. The Gift which comes wrapped is a cause for rapture. The waiting is finally over. IT has arrived!
